This beautiful laminated book, published in April 2018, is a selection of 150 paintings in full colour and 40 poems, in Portuguese, the creative work of many primary, junior and secondary schools in the Algarve. It also includes of the top 20 finalists in The Sovereign Art Foundation 2018 Art Competition.

David Trubshaw, joint editor of Art e Poesia is Past President and a member of the Silves Rotary Club. The two main objectives of publishing this book were to show the incredible range of artistic and creative writing talents of local school children and also raise funds for a local children's charity.

All donations received for Arte e Poesia will be presented by the Silves Rotary Club to Casa do Povo in Messines, to help them install a Sensory Room in their children's crèche. This is a special Therapy Room to help children with learning, mobility and communication difficulties.
